If your SMS messages are sending from Scaffold but not arriving at the recipient's phone, here are the most common causes and how to fix them.
Check these in order:
Consent not confirmed — Go to Settings → SMS and confirm you've checked the TCPA consent box. Sending is blocked until this is done.
Invalid phone number — Make sure the number is a valid 10-digit US number with no spaces or special characters.
Landline number — SMS cannot be delivered to landlines. If you're unsure, try calling the number to check.
Carrier filtering — Some carriers block messages that contain certain keywords or come from new numbers. Avoid words like 'free', 'win', 'guarantee'.
Opted-out recipient — If a recipient texted STOP to your number, they've opted out and cannot receive further messages. This cannot be overridden.
1
Check the message status in the lead's Activity Timeline. Look for 'Delivered', 'Failed', or 'Filtered' status next to the message.
2
If you see 'Failed' with an error code, contact support at hello@scaffoldcrm.com with the lead name and error code — we can investigate the carrier issue directly.
Do not attempt to re-send to a number that has replied STOP. This is a legal requirement under TCPA.
